I'm in UK and I get socket errors a lot. I also have issues where the whole client will become unresponsive while the server still thinks I'm playing. It won't let me shut down the program and I lost an expensive ship because of this. Considering unsubscribing as I cannot make progress if my ships get blown up faster than I can earn the isk to replace them.
Also it's not just the game client. This forum is also laggy as hell for me sometimes, but every other website loads fine. |

I only use one client and I have 10mb internet which should be fine for online games. Right now speedtest is reading 6mb, which is lower than it should be, but still fine for playing games yet Eve is still lagging sporadically and so is this forum. Every other website is fine and other games I've tried don't have this problem either. |

Maybe they are changing the server in preparation for Dust and that might be causing the problem. |

I'm starting to think it might have something to do with particular accounts. Yesterday I was on my alt which has never suffered from this error, but after I made an API to join a corp, I had the error twice.
Do you think the problem could somehow be tied to API keys or maybe Eve Gate? |

How much bandwidth is the EvE client supposed to use? I did some test on speedtest.net.
Test1: No client - 9.8mb
Test 2: 2 clients - 2.5mb
Test 3: 2 clients - 1.5mb
Test 4: 1 client - 7mb
Test 5: No client - 9.7mb
Test 6: 2 clients - Could not connect
Test 7: 2 clients - 1mb
Test 8: No clients - 9.8mb
Should the EvE clients be using this much bandwidth? Is my connection too slow to play EvE? I still don't understand why this character can receive 5 socket errors in an hour while my alt doesn't get any at all, despite being parked right next to me in the same mission.
I made a petition about this problem but the reply wasn't very helpful. |

It seems to affect me after downtime on some days, not every day though. Also, it might be coincidence, but I seem to get it really badly when I'm running Guristas Extravaganza. |
